More than twenty (20) years ago, a group of Villamor High School Alumni met together and reminisced about the experiences they shared together. Although there were happy times, the most glaring were the hardships all the children had to go through to make it to graduation. It was then the group decided to form an organization to help children alleviate their suffering through donations from alumni.
Throughout the years since its inception, the members of the organization have dedicated their love, time, resources, and effort to help the children. They have provided them with monthly monetary allowances, books, school uniforms, school supplies, medicines, sports paraphernalia, musical instruments etc.
The school has been provided with a computer room equipped with laptops, a sewing machine room (for children who may not have the means to go to college), air conditioners, flat screen TVs, copiers, tables, chairs, sports equipment, etc. Children were given awards as incentives for excelling in their overall grades and in specific subjects. Also given awards for winning different school competitions both in intramural and in interschool. Awards come in both plaque and monetary.
Small number of the children who graduated from high school have been provided with their college tuition fees.
Why Have We Incorporated?
Despite the best efforts, the organization felt the need to make a change. The limited resources had restricted its ability to make much headway and bringing together people with similar visions to achieve common goals is the most logical path moving forward, hence, the incorporation.
There are so many kind, concerned, and loving people in the world who wish to help the children but did not know where to start. Now we are giving them the path - an organization with more than twenty years experience in providing a better future to so many children through education.
By joining our cause, our combined resources will ensure that more and more children will be able to avail of the many assistance we can offer. More children will be empowered in countless ways, helped them build self-confidence, gives them the motivation and encouragement to strive to finish their education—the only proven tool that can break the cycle of poverty. Education will help mold the character of children into what we envision them to be: respected, useful, and responsible members of society.
What we want to do:
School facilities be brought up to the current standard.
